Primary 1

Primary Care in a Montessori environment supports young children during a crucial period of growth toward independence, confidence, and social awareness. For children ages 2.5–4, primary care focuses on meeting their physical, emotional, and
developmental needs in a calm, consistent, and respectful setting.
Children are guided to care for themselves and their environment through hands-on, purposeful activities such as dressing themselves, preparing snacks, cleaning up, and practicing grace and courtesy. Teachers provide consistent routines and gentle guidance, helping children develop trust, emotional regulation, and a sense of belonging. The classroom is carefully prepared to encourage independence, movement, and concentration. Through mixed-age interaction, children learn cooperation, empathy, and communication skills while developing language, fine and gross motor skills, and early social problem-solving abilities.
Primary care nurtures the whole child—supporting healthy development, fostering independence, and laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning in a warm and supportive Montessori community.
